The ensuite at Summerleas Road by aka Architects, winner of the People’s Choice Award at the Tasmanian Architecture Awards, is anchored by a Tasmanian oak box bath and matching floating vanity, both conceived as sculptural expressions of timber craftsmanship. Framed by floor-to-ceiling glazing, the space immerses you in the surrounding bushland, with the warm tones of the oak echoing the colors of the eucalypt canopy beyond. Minimalist detailing allows the natural materials to take center stage, balancing the solidity of the timber with the lightness of the view. The result is a bathroom that feels both grounded and elevated, a serene retreat where architecture and landscape are seamlessly intertwined.
